    • 1 cup powdered sugar

    • 1 cup powdered sugar
    • 1 tbsp melted butter
    • Fresh strawberry slices for garnish

    Instructions

    1. Preheat the oven:
      Preheat to 350°F (180°C) and use a round or loaf cake pan.
    2. Cream the butter and sugar:
      Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
    3. Add wet ingredients:
      Add eggs one at a time, then mix in mashed strawberries, heavy cream, and vanilla extract.
    4. Mix dry ingredients:
      In another bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and lemon zest. Gradually fold into the wet mixture.
    5. Bake the cake:
      Pour batter into the pan and bake for 35–40 minutes or until golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Let cool before glazing.
    6. Prepare the glaze:
      Mix strawberry purée with powdered sugar and melted butter until smooth.
    7. Finish the cake:
      Pour glaze over the cooled cake and garnish with fresh strawberry slices.
